As a teenager and living in West Texas, I was always within reach of quality
Leather. The look, smell, and feel of Western Tack was art to me. I worked as a helper in a Saddle Shop for a little while as a young teenager. I got to see the work and be amid the process. I have always loved it. 

 

I went into another career, but almost immediately, my new carrier introduced me to a new leather item. It was no longer the Western Tack it was now Law Enforcement gear. Working in a Correction Facility, I would see Texas Rangers coming and going. The Custom Tooled Belts and Holsters were terrific. The agency I worked for allowed the same Western duty gear. It was without question it was a must to have the same tooled leather equipment. But as a young guy with a small income, it was out of reach for me. Having an understanding of the work and tools from that short time in a saddle shop made it easy to take on a new task.

 

So, I learned and made my own equipment. With a career to keep up which allowed me a part-time leather obsession that ultimately had to take a backseat to real life in the job I had chosen. 

However, As life changes again leather is something I can do for myself and my customers with the quality they deserve.

Working with our customers during the creative process of developing a custom piece is what we love.

To improve what we offer, I attend ongoing courses with leading Leather Craftsmen in-person and online. I maintain memberships with the International Federation of Leather Guilds and the Lonestar Leather Crafters Guild.
